A new release of Atomic Tanks (2.7) is out! Below is a list of
things that have changed since the previous (2.6) release. Please
grab your copy of Atomic Tanks here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=72358

At this time, just source and .rpm versions are ready for
download. Hopefully, we'll have a Windows package soon.

1. Corrected timing bug which causes the game to freeze on the
buying screen.

2. Games that are not given a name, take the default name of
"unamed".

3. Changed the name of AI player from "Range Finder" to "Ranger".

4. Windows now saves config file in the user's AppData folder
(C:\documents and settings\username\application data)
rather than the current working directory. Makes Atanks
more Windows friendly.

5. Atanks now attempts to create a folder in the user's HOME directory
called .atanks, rather than saving files in the user's home. This
folder contains config settings and saved games.

6. Tech levels can now be adjusted for Weapons and Items seperately
on the Options screen.

7. Keilaron added code to change the window title (caption) under
Windows. Makes the game easier to find in the task list.

8. Added a new wall type, Wrap Around. Missiles that hit a wrap
around wall, appear on the other side of the screen. Wrap
around walls are drawn in yellow.

9. Wind Strength is now properly saved when the game exits.

10. Fixed buffer overflow error on 64-bit systems. Thanks to Icon
of the Fedora team for pointing out this bug.

11. Fixed bug where tanks that damage themselves get negative money
and end up with positive $1,000,000,000. Thanks to Andy for
trouble shooting this one.

12. If both teams have the same number of wins, the game is a draw.

13. Game settings are saved along with saved game info. This makes it
possible to over-write your regular config file with the saved
game config to get your exact settings from your previous game.

14. The game now displays basic instructions on how to save a game
on the buying screen (press F10).

15. Added fuel item, which allows the tank to move if it's not
under ground. A tank can be moved (assuming it has fuel) using
the < and > keys. Or the comma and period.

16. The amount of fuel a tank has is displayed on the top bar
during the round.

17. Added a .desktop file (atanks.desktop) for Linux distros.
This is not installed by default, I'm leaving the decision to
use the .desktop file up to the packagers.

18. Fixed a bug where the game would crash if two players on the same
team had a one-on-one duel.

19. Created a new type of weapon called the Chain Missile. This weapon
fires three small missiles in a volly.

20. Fixed bug that can prevent config settings to be saved on systems
that did not have Atanks installed prior to this version.

As always, your comments, questions and bug reports are welcome.
Jesse

The Windows Atomic Tanks installer and patch for 2.7 have been created and will be uploaded as soon as Jesse has the time to do so.
The patch will update 2.6 to 2.7.
As usual, if you have any trouble with anything, just let us know Smile

As Keilaron stated, the Windows version has been uploaded to Sourge Forge.
You can grab a copy from our download page. The package to
update from 2.6 to 2.7 is there too. Thanks Keilaron!

2.7 crashes as soon as I run it. 2.6 functions normally.
I'm running Windows XP x64 with an Intel Core2Duo (3.00GHz) and 8GB DDR2 RAM.
